6 reasons why we should go to the sea more often

I do not know if the sea is special for people who live right next to it, but for me and probably anyone who is far away from it, it is often a longing. That I love the sea is understated. I'm crazy about it, it's my passion.

The sea offers so much, it gives us the feeling of infinity and freedom. Personally, I feel much calmer and more relaxed by the sea. It is also sometimes enough for me to just sit on the beach and watch the powerful waves that run parallel to the shore. It smells really fresh and salty, very different than in the city and surroundings!

There are certain reasons why the sea is so important to us and so magical on us:


1. happiness

The first and most important reason is that people feel happy and carefree by the sea. The sea surfaces contrast so incredibly strongly with the everyday, ordinary landscapes. By the sea you forget the work stress, time pressure and problems, the hustle and bustle of other people. With the view of the sea you come much faster to your inner peace, balance and contentment. In the sea you can be feather-light, wild and childish again: jumping into the water, swimming, diving and just screaming for joy! In addition, e.g. blue, turquoise and dark green sea colors soothing, relaxing and harmonious. The neutral brown or gray colors signal earthiness and solidness. In addition, the wave noise has a positive easing effect!

2. Health

The combination of iodine-containing, pollen-free marine air, higher UV radiation, saline and mineral and vitamin-rich sea water, the sea is a perfect place against many diseases. The vitamin D supply from the sunlight strengthens the bones and relieves depression. The marine climate strengthens the immune system, has a positive effect on sleep. The salty water makes our hair and skin softer and cleaner. The salt mixture also causes dandruff to disappear. The salt water detoxifies and deacidifies our bodies. It has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, helps against itching and quickly heals small wounds. It also helps against eczema. Thanks to the salty, low-pollen and low-dust sea air, allergy sufferers and asthmatics can breathe better at the sea. In addition, the oxygen-rich air clears mucus, frees the nose, relieves symptoms and inflammation in chronic bronchitis and sinusitis. The consumption of fish and seafood also provides us with valuable vitamins, supports inflammation in the tissue and reduces the risk of thyroid and cardiovascular diseases.

3. Physical activity is increased

You do not only get rest and relaxation from everyday life by the sea. You can also turn negative energy into activity. When sailing, swimming or surfing all the energy that comes out comes out. Under such conditions one has more desire for sport and more fun with it.


4. The sea teaches us to get better

The sea teaches us to enjoy the moments, ourselves and life in general. At sea, we can better look to the future and accept certain aspects of life. It lets us first fall deeply into the water and then step on our feet again with new strength. It teaches us to connect our minds with the heart and let go of unnecessary thought, to find our consciousness.

5. From the sea you draw new energy

There is enormous energy behind the power of the sea. When you are exhausted and your battery is empty, you can soak up that energy from the sea. Time by the sea helps keep your body fit and alert.

6. Waves and wind not only smear marks on the sand, but also mental injuries

Time by the sea activates the production of happiness hormones in the brain. The sea is a good helper for those who have experienced something sad. It brings sunny memories into your head and releases you (at least for a short time) from your dark moments. By the sea you can fight your fears and emotional pain better and find your inner peace faster!
