A fishing pose self-built

My great-grandfather taught me how to fish. Among other things, not only how to behave on the water, but also how to make his accessories quickly and cheaply.

We need:

  • 1 wine bottle cork (the new ones are plastic too)
  • 1 not too small feather, so 10 - 15 cm should it be long, can be found in parks and gardens
  • 1 small remainder valve rubber from the bike
  • 1 carpet knife
  • 1 nail, which is slightly thinner than the quill pen

How it is done:

Carefully remove the feather branches along the keel with the utility knife, except for a small reminder of one centimeter at the top. Then the cork is shortened depending on the required load capacity. But half a cork should be left over. The nail is now as midway along the cork pierced a hole. With the carpet knife you now cut from an outer wall exactly to this hole in the middle. Thus, the cork is practically split on one side. That was it.

To position the pose on the main line of the fishing line, pull the string through the cut to the hole in the center of the cork. Then you put the quill into the hole from above, as far as how the tip should stand out of the water. This pinches the string in the cork. Finally, attach the tendon at the lower end of the quill with the valve rubber to allow the pose to float correctly and vertically.
