Unfortunately, our cat from time to time carries a living mouse. Of course, this has disappeared behind the closet at the best option and is then unreachable for him. With this method, I have successfully brought out the mouse several times and transported it outdoors.
I take a cardboard roll that is used for mailing. Usually there are also lids. Of course you can also make something yourself. The diameter should be at least 5 cm, so that the mouse is not injured. Close the roll on one side. You can also put your hand over it - but that's not for the faint of heart.
The best way to move the cat into another room and then quietly move the cabinet so far that you can put the role over the mouse. The mouse, of course, grateful that she can hide a hole, will seize the opportunity to hide in the role. Slowly raise the roll upright on the wall so that the mouse slides down and the hand or lid over it and into the open air.
