Airy, soft cake crust - ideal for strawberries

I also have a recipe for a pie base / cake base, it gets pretty light and airy and goes very fast. I modified it from an old recipe from my grandmother.

Do not let the vinegar put you off, you will not taste it in any way, but it makes the ground so airy!

ingredients

  • Beat 3 egg whites until stiff
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 5 tablespoons flour (slightly heaped)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons baking powder

preparation

  1. Mix everything together, fold in egg whites.
  2. Bake in a greased cake or springform pan for 20 minutes at 175 ° C in a convection oven as needed. Turns pale yellow and juicy.
  3. If you have less time available, you can also add all the eggs to the dough and then skip the water.
