Annoying brake squeal
You know it all .... the bike brakes squeal like hell, because everyone knows who is coming home so late ...
Very easily:
The brake pads should not be parallel to the rim, but slightly inclined. Meaning, the rear end (seen in the direction of travel) should be 1-2 mm away from the rim. You can easily adjust this by simply sticking a match to the back end with Tesa during assembly.
The trick is: When braking, the pad is pulled to the rim, put through the oblique, is initially only the front part (see Figure 2) and so a high-frequency oscillation is prevented.
Works great ... any professional driver and / or screwdriver will confirm.
