Anti-tick remedies in dogs

Every dog owner knows the problem with the ticks. This year it was extreme for us (NRW). After each walk, I was able to get at least one tick in each of our two Golden Retrievers, but mostly there were several. Even spot-ons do not seem to interest the ticks (apparently they did not read the leaflets).

After intensive search on the net and demand from dog owners and trainers, I learned about the use of brewer's yeast. Since we were barbecuing, it was not a problem, in addition to other additives, a beer yeast powder (a teaspoon) to mix under the food. That was three weeks ago.

Since these three weeks, both dogs are almost free of ticks. Now and then you can find one more and most of the time these few ticks are still running around on the fur and have not docked. - For us, this is the "solution" to the tick problem.

I also read on the net that some dog owners could find no effect at all. I can not tell you what this is (in the dog or the special ticks in the respective region) - so just give it a try.
