Apple casserole with rye bread
ingredients
- 350 g old wholegrain rye bread
- 150 g old white bread
- 125 g of sugar
- 1 organic lemon
- 500 g apples
- ½ L of sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp cardamom-ginger mixture
- 50 g currants
- 50 g of grated almonds
- butter or margarine
- 2 tbsp sugar-cinnamon mixture
preparation
- Peel apples, cut into very thin slices, sprinkle with sugar.
- Mince the black bread and white bread and pound with the mortar. With sugar, grated lemon peel, cardamom-ginger mixture, currants, almonds.
- Stir sour cream and egg.
- Grease a casserole dish made of fireproof glass or porcelain well. Cover the bottom with a thick layer of bread. Put apple slices on top. Add a few drops of sour cream to this layer. Then again a layer of bread, cream drops, then apple slices, etc., until the shape is full. Stop at the top with bread.
- Then pour out some butter flakes and then the whole form with sour cream. Bake at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes. Powder with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
