Apple pie with nut or almond crust

For all apple fans: Here's a recipe for a tasty juicy apple pie with nut or almond crust, just like my grandmother always baked it. The cake is simple and made quite fast!

ingredients

  • about 800 g apples
  • 60 g raisins
  • some rum (or apple juice)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 120 g of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 60 ml of oil
  • 1 pck of vanilla sugar
  • some cinnamon
  • 50 g of chopped hazelnuts or almonds
  • 20 g of butter

preparation

Takes at most 30 minutes.

  1. The raisins are best softened overnight in rum or apple juice.
  2. The oven is preheated to 180-190 degrees.
  3. First, the apples are washed, removed from the core, cut into pieces and set aside.
  4. Eggs and sugar are turned into a creamy mass. The flour that has been sifted with the baking powder is gradually removed carefully. Finally, the oil is stirred in and the dough mass filled into a greased Springform.
  5. Now mix the apple pieces with the soaked raisins, spread them evenly on the dough and sprinkle with vanilla sugar, cinnamon and nuts or almonds.
  6. Then the cake comes in the preheated oven until it is nice golden brown. That takes about 45 to 50 minutes.
  7. Then the top of the still warm cake is drizzled with the melted butter. Finished!

Tips:

  • If you do not like raisins, you can also use cranberries!
  • Instead of apples, almost all other types of fruit can be used (for example, pears, plums, cherries, etc.).
  • If you want to save some fat, you can only use 20 ml of oil and 100 g of skimmed quark instead of 60 ml of oil.
