Avoiding musty laundry
Some tips are already concerned with the reasons why laundry smells musty, although it is freshly washed.
If that happens, you have already missed a lot. An accumulation of these unpleasant bacteria can be avoided from the outset by very simple means:
If you have a fixed wash day in the week:
If possible, divide the washing "portions" so that the first and last washs are at 60 degrees, e.g. Towels, bed linen etc. (more useful than occasionally to let the empty machine to 90 degrees!)
If you do not have that much 60-degree laundry or you're washing individual portions over and over again:
For the fabric softener, a hygiene rinse, e.g. of impresan or Sagrotan, kills the bacteria, e.g. even with sweaty sportswear that must not be washed too hot.
