Blood orange rum chocolate mousse

Here is the recipe for a blood orange rum chocolate mousse with a fruity citrus note. If no kids eat, then you can soak the mousse with a hefty dash of rum - tastes heavenly and lifts the mood!

You need:

200 g dark chocolate
Juice of two blood oranges
4 eggs
maybe 1 - 2 tablespoons rum

The mousse is so easy:

The eggs are separated. The egg whites are beaten to stiff snow, the egg yolk stirred.


The oranges are squeezed out and the juice is heated in a potty. The chocolate is melted in pieces in the hot but not boiling orange juice. When it has melted, remove the pot from the heat and gently stir in the egg yolks. Beat vigorously after everything is well mixed.

Now, if wanted, add the rum.

Cool for a few minutes, then fold in the stiff whipped protein. Do not stir! The movement should be like winding a thread.

Then refrigerate for at least 1 hour - and then, finally! enjoy.
