Today I introduce you to a very tasty alternative to the dumplings. What I especially love about the Bohemian dumplings is that they soak up the sauce and therefore become even juicier :)
Ingredients for 8 people
- 1 kg of flour
- 500 ml of warm milk
- 2 sachets of dry yeast
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
preparation
- Heat the milk in a small saucepan, stirring constantly.
- Place in a larger bowl, the flour, the lukewarm milk, the dried yeast, the eggs, the sugar and the salt.
- Mix all ingredients well by hand and keep kneading until the dough barely sticks to your fingers.
- Cover the kneaded yeast dough in the bowl with a clean dishcloth and leave for approx. 45 min. let rest.
- Remove the risen dough from the bowl and divide into 6 equal parts. Knead the yeast dough well again.
- Then shape into nice smooth and elongated balls and cover again with a clean dishcloth and let rest for another 30 minutes.
- Then bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once the water boils, set to a lower level so that the water stops boiling.
- I put two dumplings into the boiling water each time, but it depends on your pot size, whether you do one or two. But please remember, the dumplings are getting bigger;)
- Then let the lid on and let the dumplings for about 20 min. But you do not need to turn it over, just leave the lid on!
- Once the bohemian dumplings are done, remove from the water and cut crosswise with a sewing thread.
- Have fun trying it and Enjoy your meal!
