Cevapcici with Djuvec rice

Bring holiday mood home: The holiday is over or you have not had any holidays? But you want to at least feel the taste of vacation or recall? Unfortunately, I can not serve the sea, but with a delicious recipe from the Balkans: Cevapcici with Djuvec rice
ingredients
Cevapacici:
- 500 g Hack: Either mixed with beef with pork or lamb or just pork with beef or just beef
- 2 - 4 garlic cloves to taste
- 1 tsp paprika sweet or spicy
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tablespoons oil
Djuvec Rice:
- 250 g parboiled rice, washed well
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- Half a red and green pepper each, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Ajvar
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 large meat tomato without seeds (if available)
- 1 tsp paprika sweet
- salt
- 300 ml of water
- 2 tablespoons oil
preparation
- All the ingredients for the Cevapcici mix with hands and knead well. Leave to rest in the fridge for about an hour.
Note: Eggs and / or breadcrumbs are added to some recipes, but I advise against it. The food is rather pulpy or hard, but not juicy. Sometimes chopped onions are also added, but I do not like them because they quickly turn dark brown or black when roasting on the grill or in the frying pan on the outside. - After resting the meat mass, you shape these hands moistened with water into thumb-thick rolls.
- These are then fried in the pan or in a grill pan at first high heat (then switch back) for about 15 minutes with repeated turning brown or dark brown.
- For the Djuvec Rice The oil is heated slowly to roast the onions in glassy.
- Then the peppers, tomato and tomato paste are roasted with.
- Now the paprika powder is added and everything is infused with the water.
- The rice is then added and brought to a boil over a high heat. Then it is stewed covered with a small flame for about 20 minutes covered.
- Shortly before the end of the cooking time, the rice is seasoned with salt and ajvar.
