Cherry marzipan ring cake

I can only recommend this juicy cherry marzipan cake, it tastes very delicious.
Since I had marzipan left over from Christmas, the recipe was just right for me. The cake tastes very loose, juicy and delicious.
ingredients
- 250 g butter
- 1 glass of cherries / morello cherries
- 180 g marzipan
- 250 g of sugar
- 1 vanilla sugar
- 400 g of flour
- 5 eggs
- 1 pck of baking soda
- 5 tablespoons milk
- either powdered icing, or couverture, coconut flakes to taste
preparation
- First, the marzipan is cut very small, then the sugar with the soft butter and vanilla sugar stirred well.
- Then the marzipan is mixed well and the eggs are added individually.
- Mix the flour with the baking powder and mix well with the mixture, then add the milk.
- Grease the Gugelhupfform well and fill the dough alternately with the drained cherries into the mold. The first and last layer should be dough.
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and bake for about 50-60 minutes.
- Allow to cool and spread glaze over it. I made a icing with some cherry juice and then sprinkled coconut flakes over it.
