Children get used to dealing with money

Children can get used to dealing with money by assigning little tasks to them.

My son, a son, is now 6 and has been enrolled this summer. Then of course it started, that he would like to have pocket money, so he can buy a candy on the way to school. From us he gets with 6 years of the week 0.50 euros, but of course not enough for an awful lot.

Now the idea of how he could earn more. Helping as a boy with 6 years in the household ... was not so appropriate. But since we have a supermarket directly within walking distance and to 4 people incur a lot of disposable returnable bottles, we had the idea that our son but once a week can exchange 4 empty bottles each for 0.25 euro pledge. (Since PET, the bottles are not heavy and he can easily carry them.)

He then comes back with the 1 euro and we put 0.50 euros in his piggy bank and the other 0.50 euros he may then keep. So he has a total of 1 Euro per week in pocket money and also saves something at the same time. But the most important thing is that he learns so early, that money does not grow on the trees and that we can not always run to the ATM and pick up as much as we want, just for our money - just like him - something have to do.

In principle, according to the motto: no diligence no price!
