Choco-cream based on chickpeas

Chickpeas are legumes such as soybeans. While I've eaten soy pudding or soy yoghurt a lot, so far I only knew hearty dishes and dips of chickpeas. Especially hummus, a mixture of sesame paste, chickpeas and olive oil and garlic and other spices, tastes very good to me. Since chickpeas have a very neutral taste, they can also be prepared sweet. There are some chocolate hummus recipes on the net. I have compiled this one to my own taste and am thrilled.

ingredients

  • Chickpeas from the glass or the canned goods (drained weight 220 g)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 100 g of ground hazelnuts
  • 3 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 3 teaspoons butter (about as much as 3 breads)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • Vanilla and cinnamon
  • hot and cold water

preparation

  1. Remove the chickpeas from the skin. This is best done by placing the chickpeas in a bowl with plenty of water and then grabbing a handful of chickpeas and washing them under water. This loosens the cuticles. The chickpeas submerge in the water, the pellicles swim on the surface and can be skimmed off. You can also leave the cuticles on, they are edible, but without the cuticles, the hummus becomes creamier.
  2. Once again shake the chickpeas well, the last cuticles dissolve and fill in a tall container.
  3. Add cocoa, ground hazelnuts, sugar, butter and chia seeds.
  4. Give boiled boiling water to cover everything.
  5. With a blender stir the mass until smooth (results in a very thick, stable mass).
  6. Add so much cold water and puree until the desired creamy consistency is achieved.
  7. Season with vanilla and cinnamon.
  8. Put in a screw cap and refrigerate until use.

Can be used as a spread, as a filling for biscuits or cakes, as a dessert, as a dip for biscuits, pretzel sticks or fruit ...

It gives 2 jam jars full of chocolate cream or dessert for 4-5 persons.

This cream can be further varied

  • One finds on the net recipes with dried fruit or other sweeteners, such as agave syrup.

I could also imagine the following variants:

  • Instead of water you can take coffee, red wine or liqueur, if no children eat
  • If you like it creamier, add more butter or add cream
  • Of course, almonds, pistachios, cashews, peanuts etc. are also used instead of hazelnuts.
  • You can also omit the butter and instead take almond, peanut, tahin (sesame paste) or nut oil
  • With coconut grated and coconut milk, I also think it's delicious

A fast-prepared, much lighter chocolate nut cream and with nobler ingredients, as some world-famous Nussnugataufstrich.
