Clamping radiator valve

If the radiator valve can not be used with this tip, you have to go one step further.

The insert behind the thermostatic valve can be turned out to the left with a 12 mm wrench without any great water leakage.

This insert is available as a "stuffing box for radiator valves" in the hardware store or in the sanitary trade. The size is standardized. At the same time you should buy a tube of faucet grease.

Provide a rag or small receptacle before mounting.

Coat the new bush inside and at the thread with grease.

Maintain cloths and turn out the stuffing box to the left. There are only a few drops of water, as behind a sprung shut-off sits which seals the heater body.

Turn in the new stuffing box to the right and tighten with feeling.

Even if I still have to buy the 12-key, this method is cheaper than the travel costs of the fitter.

I have practiced this method for 35 years.
