Clean mattress of vomit
One is sick and can not get out of bed to the bathroom and vomits on the spot. Even pets that are allowed to go to bed has happened before.
Vomit on the mattress can be eliminated quickly. But how do you free the mattress from the bad smell and the stain? Because unlike clothes you can not wash mattresses with the washing machine. Here are my tips:
- After the mishap has happened, remove with paper towels the vomit and immediately take off all the fabrics (sheets and fitted sheets) and wash it off in the washing machine to 60 degrees.
- Dab the damp place on the mattress as well as possible with paper towels (kitchen roll, which sucks very well) and soak up the moisture.
- In a bucket mix warm water with detergent and clean with a sponge, the affected area thoroughly, then remove again with only pure water, the detergent residues.
- Next, mix in the bucket a mixture of one part of water and 3 parts of vinegar and then clean the area very well with another sponge or cloth. The vinegar smell disappears when dried, but vinegar disinfects and removes odors.
- Either leave the mattress to dry well in the fresh air, or do it all with a hair dryer.
- When the mattress is dry again, rub in with baking soda, let it soak in for a while and then vacuum with the vacuum cleaner.
From the stain, nothing should be seen and the smell has disappeared.
