Clean wooden cutting boards in the microwave
I like to use natural materials in the kitchen, including my wooden cutting board. Every day I need this board for slicing herbs, cheese or bread.
Over time, however, bacteria settle on and the cutting board smells unpleasant. Of course I always rinsed the wooden board with the dishes, but the unpleasant smell just did not disappear.
By chance I came to the solution:
Once I wanted to quickly warm up my pizza, I put the chopping board in the microwave. In the evening, while rinsing, I noticed that the wooden board did not smell as bad as usual. So I put it back in the microwave and set the temperature to maximum. And indeed: the board did not stink anymore. The heat probably killed the bacteria.
With this trick I save time and nerves!
