Clothes rail: move the bar silently

When I moved the hangers on the pole in my closet, they made a squeaking noise that I thought would wake neighbors early in the morning ...

In contrast, the following helped: I rubbed the clothes rail lightly with candle wax in the top (that is, in the very narrow area in which the straps rest and slide back and forth). Just take the candle in your hand and rub it. Afterwards I "spread" the wax a bit by hand, if tiny lumps should have settled down: The hangers can still be moved comfortably, but without any noise! This is how searching and sorting is fun!
