Coconut Oatmeal Taler (Christmas Cookies)

There are plenty of cookie recipes ... so they certainly do not go out, here's another Christmas cookie recipe. Enough for about 3 sheets.

ingredients

  • 150 g soft butter / margarine
  • 200 g of oatmeal
  • 50 g coconut flakes
  • 150-200 g (powder) sugar
  • 100 g of flour
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 packet of baking powder
  • 1 egg

preparation

I let the butter melt first and then add all the remaining ingredients. Mix all ingredients together. (The easiest way is by hand, otherwise use fork or spoon, the mixer is superfluous at the point).

Now you can, if you want, to refine to your own taste, I then divide the dough into several portions and mix cinnamon, chocolate chips, nuts (this time it was almonds), raisins, cocoa powder, crushed biscuits (Spekulatius), crumbled corn flakes or or or under the dough.

Place the cookies in small "heaps" on a baking tray with baking paper (cookies will be flat when cooking, like a thaler, so do not leave too much dough per cookie and leave enough space between them).

Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes (I use convection air to 180 degrees) until they are slightly golden brown - then quickly let out and cool.

If you like, you can sprinkle icing sugar over it or decorate it with couverture.

I would like to have a photo taken, but unfortunately my three sheets have been directly destroyed ;-)

After cooling, the cookies are nicely crispy (but not hard).
