College block or spiral book wire
If you dispose of disused spiral blocks (college blocks), you can easily pick up the wire of the spiral.
Get a simple spiral-from-the-block:
At the two ends of the spiral there is an eyelet (see picture [1]), which should prevent the spiral from becoming independent from the block. This can be cut off at both ends with a pair of pliers (for a long time I also had the craft scissors, but of course suffers) (see picture [2]). Then you just turn the spiral out of the block (picture [3]).
The less you have pulled on the wire, the easier it is. And then you have a nice piece of white wire (picture [4], if you have not been dragging around on the spiral before, it's even better preserved).
And why do you need that?
The wire is a little firmer than flower wire, but in my experience it can be used wherever else it is used (tie tomatoes: picture [5]). Especially in craft applications is whiter sometimes even better than green wire. Once I also made an insect hat, so with two antennae (then were two particularly even spirals that are funny herumgewippt), of which there's no photo.
