Conserve carrots in jar & recipe mayonnaise salad

Many housewifes are of the opinion that carrots do not sink well, or so can not last long, and then freeze them better. But since I only own a small freezer, I like to use different methods for conserving food.

Here I have dared the test and found that the carrots can be preserved very well in this way. They keep their color nicely and taste good too.

I like to use this canned vegetables for mayonnaise salad with boiled smoked meat.


Also Kohlrabi and celery can be preserved in this way in the glass and keeps so at least over 2 years in the dark pantry.

Preserving carrots in glass

So I boiled the carrots:

  • peeled the carrots and cut into small cubes
  • I boiled and salted water in a saucepan
  • some sugar (but you do not have to)
  • then cook the carrot cubes until firm
  • filled into hot rinsed glasses and filled with the boiling sauce boiling to 1 cm under the edge and closed with clean lids
  • turn the glass upside down and let it cool down
  • label with pretty labels
