Consumption billing for 2017 - is there any savings potential?
In many households in Germany, the utility bills of utilities for electricity, gas, water and wastewater are currently arriving. That was the case with us today. We were pleased because we saved a lot of electricity and gas compared to the previous year due to some tips.
But I do not want to go into energy saving tips, they are already sufficient on FM.
Every month we pay a fixed amount as a discount to our energy supplier. On the website you can always check its consumption, send inquiries or adjust payments on account.
Due to the lower consumption, we will receive a refund from the down payments, which leads to a lower discount from the provider. However, we keep the deduction amount, so as not to be surprised at the end of the billing period by a subsequent payment, because it can indeed be that consumption can increase due to unforeseen events.
Although many change their provider every year, I would recommend comparing prices with other providers. We have not changed provider for over 10 years as we have always received an offer with a 24 month price guarantee from the local supplier, which has satisfied us and made a change unnecessary.
Electricity, gas and water already account for a large part of the additional costs, but if you are informed well and thoroughly, this is an area of potential savings, if you take the time to deal with it in detail, because no one has something to give away , right?
