Continue to use old socks

Again and again I hear that there are washing machines that like to eat socks. Of course, only one couple at a time. Luckily I do not have this problem, but old socks or even single pieces. I continue to use these as follows:

But I do not just throw them away, but I like to use them as a shoeshine cloth. This not only makes the shoe polish / leather grease very well distributed, the socks are also ideal for bringing smooth leather shoes to a shine. You can also pull it well over the hand, almost like a glove, so the hand remains clean from e.g. black shoe polish.
