Cook asparagus quickly - puristic in the taste

Asparagus, very puristic of the taste and very fast cook.

Ingredients for 2 persons:

  • 500 g of fresh, white asparagus
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt (painted full)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • microwave foil

Peel asparagus, cut off ends, wash.


Lay the moist asparagus spears parallel to each other on a large enough piece of microwave foil, sprinkle salt and sugar over them, place the butter in little flakes on top.

At the asparagus tips and ends fold the microwave foil over the asparagus, then fold the long sides of the foil over the asparagus spears so that a spill-proof packet is produced.

Put this on a plate in the microwave and cook at 600 W initially for 5 minutes. Depending on the desired bite strength and thickness of the asparagus spears may be left to cook for another 2-4 minutes.

If you pack well, you can roll the asparagus from the foil directly onto the (warm) plate and serve.

Asparagus so prepared has a more intense flavor than cooked in cooking water. In addition, the method is fast and energy efficient!
