Create greeting cards with napkins - without liquid glue

Easter is coming. Anyone who would like to send self-made cards on this occasion, could try it with my method.

Since I know this ironing method without liquid adhesive, I create in this way almost all cards and gift tags for different occasions.

As "ingredients" you need in this order only:

  • a firm, heat-compatible surface (eg wooden board, size about 20 x 30 cm),
  • covered with baking paper
  • the ones to be decorated map, not opened
  • Cling film, slightly larger than the card (film shrinks when ironing)
  • the highest position of a napkin
  • baking paper, significantly larger than the foil

This is how it's done:

  1. Iron everything with an iron for about 10 seconds ("cotton", without steam!).
  2. The foil serves as an adhesive and is welded together by heating the card and the napkin; Thus, the card does not curl, as when using liquid napkin adhesive.
  3. Slowly peel off baking papers, remove any film residue and use repeatedly.
  4. Cut off excess foil and napkin residues from the card with sharp scissors.
  5. Be happy about the result!

Hints:

Contact Avoid iron-foil, because of burn-in on the sliding surface, therefore if possible, use an old iron.

Work in ventilated area with longer ironing.

On bright cards (white / cream) the napkin motif comes into its own.

Affordable folding cards can be made from white DIN-A5 index cards.
