Cut soap bar without breaking

For the current reason and because I unfortunately could not find a tip here: the other day I bought a wonderfully scented, noble bar of soap. Unfortunately, it was only huge, so I could never use it in the block, with my little hands. Quite clear: the part is simply divided or quartered and the problem is out of the world!

Unfortunately it turned out that this is not quite as simple as one might imagine. The first attempt with a very sharp knife ended in breakage. The top piece just blurted out in the pressure, and of course very uneven and sharp-edged. There were also a number of minor flakes at the break point, which were unfortunately no longer usable.

Conclusion: The soap bar was clearly too hard to share it easily.

After a long search, I found out how it works:

The soap needs a good half to one hour in the oven at about 100 °. This makes them more supple, but still remains totally stable in shape. Then she goes, with a wire, pretty easy to share.

We attached one end of the wire to a board, placed the soap directly in front of this end of the wire and slowly pulled the other end of the wire through the soap from above. Towards the end, we turned the soap upside down to cleanly divide the last cm. You can sometimes see such a wire cutter in the cheese departments of supermarkets in use.

On the first photo you can clearly see the uneven break point of the knife attempt. The second photo shows how clean the pieces with the wire look like next to it. There is nothing chipped and the pieces almost look like machine cut - just not so nice straight, because clearly the exercise is missing.
