Decorate wooden hangers
I'm not a big fan of wooden hangers, but recently needed a very sturdy handle and wooden handles are unbeatable. Since I needed a decorative bracket, I remembered the forgotten napkin technique: With this craft work one conjures up eye-catcher, if, for example. Chains to hang on it.
Napkins are available in thousands of designs and everyone will find something to their taste. I have e.g. for my other tip for space-saving storage of tops and halters, a wooden hanger with bridge with dancing XXL angels pasted, painted the bridge with placard color and wrapped the hook with color matching pipe cleaner.
I like such a single eye catcher in my dressing room very well and I enjoy daily so small crafting.
Napkin technique is certainly known, but who has not tried it, here's a short
Manual:
- A bright background is important. If a dark or even black object is to be treated, it must first be primed white.
- From a napkin, only the last thin layer is used, the motifs are pulled out.
- You now paint the object? in this case, the hanger, with napkin glue (cheap on the Internet) slightly, placed the torn object as desired on the hanger and brushed again with glue over it.
- Always work from the middle to the edge and make sure that there are no wrinkles.
- Glue can also be produced by yourself (wallpaper glue and wood glue, instructions can be found on the Internet).
- Personally, I prefer to use finished napkin glue, which additionally applies a layer of lacquer for protection.
