Defective bulbs easily find in the arc of light

Advent is approaching and some who have a candle light bow will find it no longer lit.

It may be because the supply line is defective, but usually one or more bulbs are broken. Since they are connected in series, none even lit - even if only one is no longer in order.

In order to find the faulty light bulb, I have so far unscrewed all in turn and replaced with a new one.

However, if more than one lamp is defective, the search is difficult / impossible.

Coincidentally, I came across a method that makes it easy to determine whether a bulb is still o. K. is:

Take a commercially available 9 volt block battery and hold the foot and thread of the bulb at one pole of the battery (see photo). Is it okay, it lights up weak!
