Distribute errands to all family members
Why should only one ever bring the books back to the library or the videos in the video store, bring clothes to the dry cleaner, shoes for stocking, etc.?
Under each coat hook in the hallway stands with us a basket, in which I put these orders. Everyone, on whose commute, school, sports field, etc. one of these service providers, then takes along.
This saves time and fuel. You can also extend this to special offers in discounters that you do not go to regularly.
