Djuvec is a Serbian rice dish (pronounced Dschuwetch) and tastes very delicious as a side dish, but best to Cevapcici. It is cooked according to the source method.
Not surprised that there are no peas on the picture, unfortunately I had to omit them because I had forgotten to buy them.
ingredients
- 400 g long grain rice
- 1 red pepper
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 cup of TK peas
- 1 glass of Ajvar (mild or spicy, 185 g glass)
- salt and pepper
preparation
- Cut the onion, garlic and paprika into small cubes.
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic in it, then add the pepper cubes and simmer for a few minutes.
- Now the washed rice comes along and is soaked with until it is glassy.
- Add 1 liter of water and add the ajvar and stir well.
- Salt and pepper and cook in a closed saucepan for about 16-17 minutes over medium heat until the water has been absorbed by the rice. (Stirring occasionally).
