"Do not climb into the ring" - avoid energy-eating controversy
Here's a tip I've tried several times to avoid energy-eating controversy. There's some quarreling, maybe it's necessary, I'm not a fierce opponent. But there are those kind of quarrels where you just lose, lots of energy and good humor.
If someone begins to taunt because of his own lousy mood, I avoid jumping on it, because then this fight begins, which leads to nothing and is completely meaningless.
For this situation, I got a very valuable tip from a friend, which makes the implementation easier. It says, "Do not get in the ring!" and is actually self-explanatory. These words I then say in my thoughts, sometimes in a whisper to me, turn away or start a conversation about something completely irrelevant, such as the weather.
If I want to avoid that words or announcements meet me personally, I turn to the side, so that the attacking person is no longer facing me head-on. This way it's better to pass me by. It can be exhausting at times, but it always works better with time.
In this sense: Take care of yourself and take care! Who, if not you, should otherwise do it reliably?
