Do not kill "disgusting" animals!

Hello everybody! Here's a little story to think about ...

The other day, when I was poking around in a big tree stump in Grandma's garden, a few thick ugly caterpillars came to light. (More than a year ago, a 60-year-old birch was felled because it transformed the shadow donor into a danger to home and life, as most of the tribe had already rotted, even though it is still green.)

The things were white, thick and short and had a little brown head ... Granny wanted to kill her, but I just "relocated" the "life forms" (to a corner of the garden that nobody cares about).

The next morning, a report came on TV and I almost fell out of the bag ... the ugly things become Maybugs! Of course I still know the "old" stories, that these times were a nuisance. But in my almost 30 years of life I have only seen two living cockchafers ...

So please garden owners, if you find "weird" animals in your garden, let them live! Nudibranchs and other pests can be decimated, because they spread like the plague. But something like cockchafer, or firefly ... let the animals live, because every person who could marvel at a cockchafer or a glowworm in the wild, will thank you ...

Still a sweet story?

I took care of the children when my little sister gave me a night-time party ... The night hike was the highlight, even when it rained. There it shone in the grass, and 9 of the 10 children saw a firefly for the first time.

You could hardly tie the "rattle gang" before, but when everyone had seen the little creature, we were bombarded with questions to "big ones" and the "gang" was spellbound by stories. Instead of teasing scary stories, we had to go to the internet to find out more about fireflies ... that was more organic than anything else, but the kids just loved it.

Of course it is not so with all children, but ours did not want to play Wii, but to learn more about the little animals around it. Also about the "spooky" bats and Co. Maybe someone of you can do something with it ...

I was already working as a carer in a tent camp ... The girls there screamed at all the animals and wanted to kill them. We (all supervisors) have told the girls well that spiders, crickets, frogs and Co. have earned their place on this earth. Whether as food for birds, or ladybug to keep tomato plants healthy.

Just as a little nudge ... We are all good for something ... :-)

Wish all readers a nice time, and that we all see the world more through the unbiased eyes of children ... :-) You know what I mean or? The flower that is allowed to bloom freely is much nicer than when we pick it up and put it in the vase ...
