Do not panic with wasps at the table

It is wasp time and I plead for a peaceful coexistence. We were sitting at the breakfast table and soon a wasp came along who wanted to have breakfast. But we wanted to have breakfast alone.

So we caught the wasp with a clean glass and once it was crawled up in it, we put the glass on a clean surface.

Throughout breakfast, other wasps stayed away. It is said that trapped wasps keep their conspecifics away. It works great inside. I also experienced something similar at breakfast in the open air. We did not stay alone, but there were significantly fewer wasps after, as soon as we caught the first one in this way.

We were able to take a close look at this specimen and take a picture of it. After breakfast, we take it out to the open with its underlay and let it fly intact. We had breakfast in peace while the wasp had to take a break foraging for food.

Especially when children are with me, I find this method cheap because you have to behave very quietly to catch the wasp unhurt, but then you can look up close. Wasps usually sting only when wildly waving. Many children already panic about wasps and then behave awkwardly, are stung and a vicious circle begins. This way you can teach children respect and prudent behavior towards these animals.
