Documents for tax return only on request

Since 2018 it is no longer necessary to submit documents with the income tax return to the responsible tax office. The tax office only requests this from the taxpayer if necessary.

Maybe it makes it a bit easier, where the tax return is a rather annoying affair for many.

Brandy: @ Alicia54: If you want to submit your tax return only and exclusively through Elster and the Internet at your tax office, so you must first register once with the tax authority. Because valid is the paperless, so-called compressed tax return only if it also contains your electronic signature. If you do not want to register with the tax authorities, the old rules will be kept and you will have to print out the declaration, sign it and send it to the tax office. However, no documents are to be attached to the tax return. But you have to cancel this in any case, because the tax office may still be able to request one or the other document from you.
