Drilling without drilling

If I want to put small furniture on the wall that needs to be doweled in order to remain stable, I do not take a drill, but take a big nail (it can also be a thick screw) roughly the diameter of the one in the Wall to be introduced dowel corresponds.

Then I hammer the nail on the length of the dowel in the wall, spread the hole a little bit by circling with the nail in the hole, take the dowel, knock it - as if I had drilled - just in the hole, take me the right screw, and tighten them and hang up my small furniture.

So I do that and it holds and holds. Last week I brought a three-piece shoe storage set to the wall. And what do I save by doing that?

  1. Electricity for the drill
  2. The danger of a hole drilled excessively with a drill due to too loose holding of the drill is dispelled and thus the filling of the hole is done.
  3. As a single woman, I save the request for drilling a hole in a man; Himself is the woman!

Everyone I tell them is impressed with my slightly different ability to dowel :)
