Dry and preserve apple peel tea in stock

The apple is an excellent local fruit, which is also very good for preservation. Apple compote and applesauce are common to most. But only a few know that you can make this tea yourself.

There are countless new apple varieties, but also many old ones. Especially suitable, I personally think, are old apple varieties. Even winter apples are often very aromatic and are good for drying. By the drying process, the taste (as with most herbs) is a lot more intense.

Also, an apple peel tea is very well tolerated. Whether old or young everyone likes him. Incidentally, in Turkey, apple tea is always served when you're about to close a deal.

Step by step for conservation

If you want to make apple pie, apple compote, etc., it makes sense to pick up the peels for the tea in this process. Often the shells smell so fruity that they are too good for the compost heap.

steps

  • First wash and dry the apples.
  • Peel apples with a peeler and lightly whip the bowl on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Keep a sufficient distance so that nothing gets moldy.
  • Now dry the baking tray with the apple peel in the shade, because the color is better preserved there. Please do not put in the sun, the color suffers greatly and it looks more than unappetizing.
  • Every day you should look for the apple peel and mix them, so that everything can dry well evenly. It takes about 4 days depending on the room temperature, until the bowls are nice and dry. Who has a dehydrator can of course also dry the shells there for a few hours. Personally, I do not like this machine because I find it all tastes like plastic. Even a drying in the oven is possible.
  • Then fill in jars and label with a nice etiquette.

Tea Maker

  1. To taste, take dried apple peel and pour over boiling water.
  2. Leaves covered for about 5 minutes and when it has cooled off a bit, you can already enjoy it.
  • Depending on the apple variety, the tea is then yellow to slightly reddish.
  • The taste of my apple is quite naturally enjoyed very sweet and fruity.
  • The tea is ideal for people who want to give up additional sugars. Here, the natural fructose is completely sufficient.
  • Personally, I drink tea as well as almost always without sugar or honey.
  • This tea also tastes very good cold!
  • Beautifully packaged in screw jars, it is also a nice gift for loved ones.
