Effective mosquito trap without chemistry
Here's an idea how you can eliminate the annoying mosquitoes. It works very well and without any chemistry.
You need to
- 1 plastic bottle (best dark)
- scissors
- 1/2 cup of water
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 g of yeast
This is how it's done
- Cut the plastic bottle in two parts.
- Mix the brown sugar with the water, to make something warm.
- Fill the sugar mixture in the lower part of the bottle and add the yeast. The yeast reacts immediately with the sugar.
- The upper part of the bottle like a funnel upside down in the lower part insert, maybe you could fix the whole thing with a tape, but I do not do that.
Use darker bottles, because the dark color attracts mosquitoes more, if you do not have a dark bottle, you could also wrap the bottle with black paper and glue it on.
The carbon dioxide that has now formed in the mixture magically attracts the mosquitoes. They gather in the lower part of the bottle. Every 1-2 weeks you should change the mixture and make new.
