English scones

English scones are traditional biscuits and can be eaten alone, but taste particularly good with butter and strawberry jam.
ingredients
- 230g of flour
- 25g sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 50g unsalted butter
- 150ml of milk
- 1 twisted egg to brush
preparation
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add butter and knead as quickly as possible with your fingers to form a crumbly dough.
- Gradually add milk and make a soft dough. Roll it out on a floured work surface approx. 2cm thick.
- Cut small circles (5cm diameter) with the knife and place on a baking sheet with baking paper. Scones become shiny by brushing them with the egg.
- Bake at 220 degrees for 12 minutes.
It is best to serve scones lightly warm.
