"Feed" an inappropriate word for residents in retirement homes

How often have I noticed that some people - the ill or frail residents of Altenheimer and elsewhere - say: "Feed Mrs. Maier".

That's how I get such a lump in my throat - it's just unworthy of these people to express themselves that way.

So much time must be that one can say: "Give Mrs. Maier the food".

The animals are fed, but not the humans!

I have learned that in the elderly care school that we have respect for the elderly - even in the expression.

Now some will have to object: Yes, what do you say for the babies?

Quite simply: Give him / her the vial or Schoppen (as one tells us in Swabian).

I am looking forward to your comments.
