Feeding flat cats properly

We cat owners know it all. The cat whines, begs, moans, behaves as if she has had to starve for weeks.

One hurries into the kitchen, opens a tin and puts it to the gnome. She sniffs, wrinkles her nose, probably looks at us reproachfully, according to the motto "How can you expect me to do that?" and hisses off.

The food will then probably stand around for a few hours, possibly be settled by flies or simply dry and stand until you have mercy and throw it away. Pity about the money.

How to do it differently

Cats do not like huge portions.

Several times per day small ("mouse-sized") portions are her dear. -> As a working person one could use the e.g. do so:
Get up at 6:30, place 2 tablespoons of cat food immediately. Morning toilet, put on, possibly even have breakfast, make cat happy with stroking and at 8:00, before rushing to work, again quickly give 2 tablespoons. Come home 17.30, give immediately 2 tablespoons cat food and at 20.00 and 22.00 (before going to sleep) give again 1 generous EL cat food.

Even better: distribute food in the apartment. For example, Water bowl in the bathroom, wet food in the kitchen, dry food in the living room.

Cats do not like cold food.

The opened cans should simply be left outside and used up within a day, and the unopened ones, e.g. store in the hallway at room temperature.

Cats have a sensitive metabolism.

You need enough water, which is best replaced 2 times a day.

  • Furthermore, they should have about 3 tablespoons of dry food per day as an alternative to wet food.
  • Who wants to do something good for his darling, malt paste and cat grass (Attention to carpets -> vomiting)

The cat does not live on the tin alone.

Canned food is not enough. You should regularly (eg 3 times a week) small portions of sour cream, yogurt, yeast flakes, olive oil and steamed meat offer. This also benefits the coat, which is much healthier and stronger.
I e.g. make a stock to freeze / thaw a self-feed from 500 g of steamed meat, 1 teaspoon sunflower seeds, 1 tbsp oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of yeast flakes, 1 tbsp olive oil and some rice or pasta in Mulinex :) will be gladly accepted and ratzeputz eaten.

Finally, when cats still show conspicuous eating behavior

Cats can smell better than taste. If a cat does not eat, it may have a runny nose that needs to be treated by a veterinarian.

It can also be gum infections due to tartar, which is often not noticed so quickly. Again, the veterinarian must be visited!
