Fight wax lice free of pollutants
Wax lice have settled on my tangerine tree this year. In the internet research, I found only countermeasures that either work with poisons or damage the plant even more (for example, cutting off affected shoots or clogging pores with oil).
The simple solution stands in most bathrooms around: the oral shower!
Set the jet to maximum pulsation and simply spray it off. The animals only cling to the plant with their proboscis and have no chance against the direct pulse. Eggs and larvae fly away the same way!
In the branch forks, they are a bit more protected, but I had the impression that they were already very damaged. So I just repeat the shower in a few days, until the last one is down.
The plant does it all right!
With persistent infestation of other pests could be the water of the irrigator possibly also vinegar, soap or other (ecological) active ingredients enforce, but I have not tried!
