Fighting mourning flies: let the soil dry out with alcohol

Plants / transplanting / pests.

Have about 3 months ago, all my houseplants supplied with new soil and in the emergency quickly bought from a grocery store a bag of potting soil. It was a big mistake, because I had bought very bad quality goods; in addition to mushrooms, mourning flies soon came to the fore, which became more and more bold. Everything I tried ... nothing helped. Before I have to re-implement all the plants, I have started a last attempt and from the pharmacy, a 96% alcohol worried, cellulose-tipped swabs and placed under the pot and put the pot in a 10 L bin liner and tied. Let the earth dry out and now it's finally over. No mourning flies anymore!
