So that the children do not get bored, when parents meet and have a lot to talk about: You are allowed to make a toy yourself - a little funny thing that my mom has already learned from her grandparents: a purr.
You need 1 large button with at least two holes (cloak button, for example)
and a strong 25 cm long twine
and about 4 cm long piece of tape.
The tape is glued together a little bit more than half, the two free ends are attached to the side of the button (flat side) so that it hangs like a tab.
Thread the twine through the two holes and then knot it (with four-hole buttons each diagonally opposite, otherwise the thing is unbalanced).
Push the button in the middle, put the two index fingers through the string loops and swing the whole thing forward like a jump rope (no, do not jump over it, that's only for advanced users ...)
The twine then drums together, that's the right moment - now gently pull and let go alternately. Through the momentum that arises, the button starts to whir. It takes a bit of skill, but it's fun for kids because it's not commonplace and they can make it themselves without any problem.
