Freeze currants so that they are dispersible

If you freeze redcurrants, I recommend a little effort - two minutes extra work - so that they are ready for use.

This is how it's done

After washing and stripping off the panicles, the redcurrants are added in portions to a freezer bag. This should actually be too big for the amount of currants, so you can lie down flat with a small distance next to each other in a layer. This flat package is now freezing in the freezer.

When the berries are frozen, they can be filled in a matching bag and closed with a clip. If you need a small amount for a dessert or for the cake, the berries roll out and you can put the rest back into the freezer.

If you stuff them tightly in the pouch from the beginning, they freeze to a solid lump.

Of course this is possible with all berry or frozen herbs.
