French Nails / Manicure - do it yourself

Here are my experiences to make French Nails myself: I have recently, as a representative of a very well-known company, started a new job at the airport. Everyone in Customer Service knows that you have to look presentable in such a job. In addition to subtle make-up, this also applies to the fingernails. Since I have a: no time (at least not when the time is) and b: not the money for a nail salon, I've bought such a French manicure set. Of course, it does not look perfect the first time, but with practice, as you know, you can do it all. Many of my friends often ask me if I can not make their nails.

You need:

  • Nail case (with all utensils in it)
  • French manicure set
  • nail polish remover
  • cotton swab
  • Cotton / toilet paper

How to do it:

  1. Wash hands (do not cream after that!), Trim and file fingernails to desired length, remove possible residual nail polish, remove old skin.
  2. White "top color" first. (I'm not a fan of the stickers that come with such sets - always make it free hand) First strip the excess paint from the brush on the vial, then paint the "not grown" part of the nail with paint (always nice horizontal to the nail, ie right to left or left to right, not with the nail), focus on that the line on the nail is clear, ignore nail polish which lands on the skin around the nail.
  3. Dip the ear buds in nail polish remover and remove the excess nail polish on the skin. (For this purpose ear sticks - because you can work with them, with more precession than cotton wool)
  4. Wait until the paint is dry!
  5. Apply a layer of "natural color".
  6. Wait until the paint is dry!
  7. Apply clear coat.
  8. For safety, allow to dry for at least 20 minutes.

If the lower layers are not dry when applying the next one, bubbles will form, also if the paint is applied too thick.

If you do not necessarily rumbuddelt in the garden then it will last about a week. I basically do a wellness evening once a week, when the nails come in.

Depending on how I am on it, I glue myself pictures on two or three nails and then cover everything with calcium gel (then the whole keeps about 3 days longer).

As I said, it is not nuclear physics, but requires some practice and the line does not always blur too. Especially if you have to do it with the left.

Unfortunately, I can not give any prices because I live in South Africa. In Germany, but you certainly get everything necessary in Dogerieladen and then for a good price.
