A very delicious recipe for all chicken fans: Today I have prepared with the Niedergarmethode a delicious chicken with garlic and ginger in Römertopf.

First, a marinade is touched:

ingredients

  • 1TL soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of minced ginger (or 1TL ginger powder)
  • plenty of small chopped garlic (to taste)
  • 3 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes
  • 2 teaspoons of Chinese spice or the 5-spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

preparation

  1. First, the oven is preheated to 220 degrees and the Römertopf watered.
  2. In the meantime, rub in the chicken with the marinade and let it rest for 10 minutes, preferably longer.
  3. During this time, the potatoes are washed, halved and sprinkled with sesame oil and salt. Marjoram can also be given about it.
  4. When the oven is heated, the chicken comes with the entire marinade in the Römertopf and the potatoes are distributed all around.
  5. Put the closed pot in the oven and lower the temperature to 120 degrees. There he stays for about 4 hours. After about 2 hours, pierce the thigh bases so that the fat runs out.
  6. Shortly before eating, remove the lid from the Römertopf and briefly turn on the grill again.

The chicken is buttery and crispy. If you like, you can also add peppers, brussels sprouts, onions, carrots, leeks etc. to the potatoes and fill the chicken. B. with apple or prunes.

It was enough for us as dinner but only with potatoes.
