Gently clean wool or cashmere scarf

If you have a delicate, light scarf or a scarf made of very fine wool or cashmere, you want to preserve the beauty as long as possible.

Before putting the part into dry cleaning or hand washing it in the sink, there is a gentler, dry way of cleaning.

100 years ago, for example, you have cleaned lace collars and delicate wool stoles: with normal wheat flour. By "washing" the part with your hands in the flour, dirt particles are picked up by the flour and gently rubbed off.

And so it goes:

Take a bowl, pour in two cups of wheat flour and "gently" wash the piece, pull it through the flour, squeeze it lightly and repeat the process.

Then shake well, the scarf smells fresh and clean. Repeat the process with fresh flour if necessary.

And the flour can possibly still be kept for salt dough teasers for Advent ...
