Germinate orchid seeds

For orchid lovers: Anyone who has ever had the success to pollinate an orchid flower, also knows that then forms a fruit capsule there.

The fruit capsule contains thousands of seeds of the orchid. Many now think "oh well, seeds just germinate in the soil". Unfortunately, I have to say, that does not get you very far. Because orchids are not easy to grow because they need a special breeding ground to germinate.

This mushroom culture medium can be easily produced by yourself:

  • 1.5 liters of filtered rainwater (or osmosis water)
  • 300 ml of potato juice
  • 7 sugar cubes
  • 1 tsp fertilizer (from Roland)
  • 12 drops of lemon juice
  • 16-17 g agar-agar

Of course, do not think now, thousands of orchid seeds are starting to sprout now. It also needs a bit of luck and the green thumb, but with proper use and good care, a few orchids are likely to germinate.
