Those who like to eat fried potatoes will love this recipe. Crunchy and delicious!

My grandma has always prepared her fried potatoes in this way and they taste delicious and are also crispy. That's because she did not use pre-cooked potatoes. She has peeled the potato, cut it into small pieces and put it in a bowl of water, about 5 minutes, so that the starch can emerge. That's the only way they really get crispy. Many take cold boiled potatoes, but then they are usually a bit soggy.

ingredients

  • Potato amount as needed
  • salt and pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Caraway seed
  • Cut 1 onion into small pieces
  • Cut 2 garlic cloves into small pieces
  • oil
  • roasted onion
  • If you like, you can also season with chilli powder or add some bacon. My grandma has omitted chilli and bacon

preparation

  1. Peel the potato and cut into pieces or slices and place in a bowl with water for a few minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in the pan and add the potato and leave to sauté for 2-3 minutes with the lid without turning.
  3. Turn everything over and season with the spices and turn every 2-3 minutes. The whole should simmer for about 20 minutes, only after about 10 minutes, mix the onion and garlic. Always leave the lid on the pan, because the steam cooks the potatoes.
  4. With a fork or the spatula, you can do the Garprobe, if a slice of potato can divide well, it's done. At the end, sprinkle with some fried onion.

Of course, my grandmother used to roast the potato in a cast-iron pan, so they were twice as tasty. Unfortunately, I do not have any and have only fried them in a non-stick pan. We like to eat fried or fried eggs.
